Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phones
- Respond to patient inquires including referral status, confirmation of appointment, etc.
- Triage telephone calls as necessary
- Schedule patients based on established protocols at all facilities (PFH, PUC, PAC, Wellness)
- Confer with Clinical Staff to effectively communicate to the patients
- Create Telephone Encounters and route to appropriate team member or providers
- Assist in securing medical records prior to appointment
- Assist with modification to Provider schedules as necessary
- Assist in the request of processing prescription refills
- Answer the back-line
- Create and respond to Telephone Encounters in a timely manner
- Assist with scanning and fax in box responsibilities as time permits
- Adhere to Patient Centered Medical Home Protocols
- Adhere to Accountable Care Organization Protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned whenever needed
Skills & Qualifications
- High School diploma required
- 2-4 years medical office experience
- Medical terminology
- Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Knowledge of medical concepts, practices and procedures
- Knowledge of EMR, E-Clinical Works preferred
- Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Makes reasonable effort to limit the use and disclosure of PHI to the minimum necessary in order to perform job
