Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Ready Lobby area upon arrival and throughout the day as frequent as possible
Greet patients as they enter the facility
Confirm patient is at correct facility
Register/verify patient demographic information, (patients who have not been seen within the past 12 months must complete a new registration form)
Create appointment; determine reason for visit and secure supporting documentation is in the chart
Verify benefits and eligibility for lab, Ultrasound, allergy, x-ray patients, etc. 3 days in advance
Oversee lab schedule, ensure protocols are being followed, communicating with leadership
Ensure authorization has been secured, document in the chart
Guarantee patient is aware of their protocol and financial responsibility prior to their appointment
Collect co-pay and outstanding account balances that are due
Schedule follow up appointment per Provider instructions; comply with scheduling protocols
DI tracking; ensure result is in chart or message is sent to patient, then imaging order is closed out
Scan and attach documents to appropriate patient chart
Accept and Sign for deliveries; Inform appropriate team members when they have arrived
Complete end of day close/batch procedure
Create and respond to Telephone Encounters as appropriate
Adhere to Patient Centered Medical Home Protocols
Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Position Requirements:
High School diploma required
  • 2-4 years medical office experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, practices, procedures, and medical billing concepts
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Knowledge of EMR, E-Clinical Works preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette skills
  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely patient flow
Makes reasonable effort to limit the use and disclosure of PHI to the minimum necessary in order to perform job
